When I first heard about Lily Allen, she had two strikes against her. 1. She came to fame via the dreaded MySpace, 2. She's the latest in the seemingly unending summer-next-big-thing British chicks, like M.I.A. and Lady Sovereign (who I both like, so go figger).

But after listening to her mixtapes, I must admit, I'm hopping on the bandwagon. She's sort of CocoRosie meets The Specials, or The Streets meets Ashley Simpson. As unappealing as that might sound, I have to say that her two mixtapes are some of the best sh*t I've heard in a while. If nothing else, she's got good enough taste to know who to try and sound like.
