This year’s British Wundergirl is the drug-addled, Bono-bashing, soul sensation, Amy Winehouse, and spoiled-celebrity tom-foolery aside, I have to say I’m really impressed. Her new album, Back To Black is actually her second, but this material is less jazz influenced than it’s predecessor and has a sound more reminiscent of 50’s and 60’s doo-wop girl groups that’s really on the money. The single “Rehab” is just fantastic, check it out–

Re: Rehab: The Amy Winehouse Story
Mon, March 19, 2007 - 10:31 AMI have a notion that I'm going to get real sick of hearing "Rehab" in the next few weeks, but it is a case of over-played but not over-hyped. It's a great and funny (tragic?) song that should be heard. I'm enjoying the rest of the album too. Gonna have to pick up the first one as well. -

Tue, March 20, 2007 - 7:29 PMWhat a great voice!
Sorta sounds like Etta James meets the Ronettes in the Alley and they all get down with the lead singer from the Detroit Cobras! -
