Anybody have any recommendations? Favorite albums? Hated albums?
I'm a blank slate when it comes to Mekons, but I just read an article in the August issue of "Paste" that makes me think I'd like them.

Tue, December 18, 2007 - 6:53 PMwhoa!!! one of my fave bands.......I would start w/ "Fear and Whiskey"......"Rock and Roll" is a great onei if you can still find it.....reissued a few years ago.......a good comp is the "Heaven and Hell" 2cd set from 2004......there are no bad albums but the last few or so have not been all that good all the way through......always a few nice tracks but as a whole lacking..........you gotta see them live!!! that's when they really shine!!!! the early punk stuff is cool too but way different from the alt-country stuff they do now!!! -

Wed, December 19, 2007 - 10:53 AMCool. Thanks for the tips, DP. I checked out "Me" from my local library, and I have to say I'm only a little excited about it. Back to Back jumped out as a great track, and a couple others are memorable for their overt sexuality. (I'd heard the "Me" was a porn album, so I wasn't surprised.)
